Each year, we switch to rolling admissions at the end of February.
While we see the bulk of applications come through before our traditional January 31st deadline, with our first round of admissions notifications for new students made March 1st each year, the Office of Admissions continues to accept applications throughout the school year. At the end of February, we shift to rolling admissions and work individually with each new applicant to schedule visits and complete the admissions process.
We are experiencing waitlists in various grades, so we encourage you to contact the Office of Admissions at 540.837.1009 to inquire about availability.
What is rolling admissions?
Rolling admissions allows us to respond to families as the applications come in, instead of waiting until after a particular deadline. Once we receive the application we contact you to walk you through the next steps. In this process we are able to work individually with families to find a convenient day to schedule the on-campus visit.
When do you notify applicants of their admissions status?
With rolling admissions we are able to move quickly with an admissions decision. Once an application file is complete we are able to evaluate the file and notify families within roughly a weeks time.
What is involved in the admissions process?
The rolling admissions process uses the exact same process as earlier in the year. A completed admissions file varies by grade level. This link will help describe the requirements for different grade levels: Click here to view the Admissions Process
How do we get started?
Stop by for a campus tour. There is no better way for you to get a sense of what Powhatan offers than to walk the campus grounds, visit our classrooms and meet our faculty. We believe that by walking through our classrooms and meeting our students and teachers you will easily be able to gauge the quality of the education here at Powhatan. Feel free to schedule your campus tour online here: Click here to schedule your campus tour.
If you have already visited with us, simply complete the online application for admission and we will contact you to walk you through the next steps!
