In this latest installment of the Powhatan Pulse Podcast, we sat down with Mr. Holloway to discuss our school motto and how it pertains to math class.
Mr. Holloway is the Math Department Chair at Powhatan School, coordinating Math in grades K-5 and teaching in the Upper School (6-8). In 2011, Mr. Holloway was honored as the 2011 VCTM William C. Lowry Mathematics Educator of the Year for the middle school level by the Virginia Council of Teachers of Mathematics (VCTM). Holloway is the coach of Powhatan’s award winning MathCounts team, a math-based competition held annually. Holloway’s teams have won 4 out of the last 5 regional competitions and have placed as high as 3rd in the State Competition (2012).
