Ann Kiernan Robb

Bio

Ann has been teaching at Powhatan since 1991 and is currently the eighth grade English teacher and Upper School Learning Specialist. She loves working with Powhatan students and collaborating with and learning alongside professional and talented colleagues. A native of Washington D.C., Ann graduated from Holton-Arms School in Bethesda, Maryland. She earned her B.A. in Psychology at Miami University and her M.Ed at University of Virginia. Prior to Powhatan, she worked in the Promotions & Public Relations Division of National Geographic Television. She is married to Tom Robb and is the mother of Powhatan graduates Kevin (’05) and Dillon (’07). Currently, Ann and Tom reside in Winchester. Ann’s hobbies include travel, hiking, fitness, music, reading, writing.

Ann’s favorite quote comes from To Kill a Mockingbird, the core novel of the eighth grade human rights unit: “You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view…until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.” -Harper Lee
