Jackie spent 14 years in Frederick County Public Schools teaching grades 2, 3, 4, and 5, and spent four years as a Gifted Resource Teacher for Grades K-3 prior to coming to Powhatan School

Highlights of her career include:

• Co-Chair of Steering Committee for Powhatan School’s Accreditation 2012-2013

• Conducted inservice for Powhatan faculty in using SMART Notebook software

•  Served as Science Lead Teacher at Stonewall Elementary and provided inservices for teachers in using the inquiry approach to teaching science

•  Supervised and mentored four college practicum students and three student teachers

•  Coached Odyssey of the Mind and Destination Imagination 7 years

•  Received Apple Pie Ridge Elementary’s Teacher of the Year Award in 1995
