Upper School Math Teacher
John was born and raised in central VT and attended the local public school through high school. He continued his education at Vermont Technical College, then transferred to St. Lawrence University where he graduated with a B.S. in mathematics. Since graduating, John has been teaching and coaching in a variety of New England boarding schools until 2017. In the summer of 2017, John and his family moved to his wife’s family farm in Upperville, VA. He worked one year at a local private high school. Throughout John’s life he has been an avid cyclist and has competed both nationally and internationally. John’s wife (Theo) the adolescent teacher at Mountainside Montessori in Marshall, VA. John and Theo have two teenage children, three cats and a new puppy.
Biking, hiking, music, movies, and working on the family farm, and learning new skills while getting his hands and shoes dirty.
