Bio

Coach Nelson is the physical education teacher for 4th and 5th grades at Powhatan and is the head girls lacrosse coach. A graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy (Exeter, NH), she is no stranger to independent schools. She has extensive playing experience at the Division I collegiate level and on the international level with USA Lacrosse. Nelson was a four-year letterwinner at Harvard University in both lacrosse and field hockey, and coached at both The University of Vermont and Harvard from 1995-2007. She coaches both girls field hockey and lacrosse.
In April of last year it was announced that Nelson has been named to the US Lacrosse Hall of Fame. Nelson will be officially inducted in October of 2015.
