Powhatan School would like to congratulate the 18 students who competed in the Destination Imagination global competition in Knoxville Tennessee this past week. Two of the teams placed in the Top-10 in their respective divisions.

Powhatan sent three teams to the Global Finals:

  1. “All of the Above” finished 15th out of 57 teams in the elementary level Coming Attractions challenge, narrowly edging the Ashdown Targets from Ashdown, Arkansas.
  2. “In the Dog House” finished 7th out of 59 teams in the middle school level Project Outreach challenge, tying with “Smart Cookies” from Katy, Texas.
  3. “Apollo DI” finished 9th out of 81 teams in the middle school level Hold It! Challenge, finishing between “Holt DI” from Holt, Michigan and “Beijing Zhongguancun” from Chaoyang, China. They also finished 12th out of 78 teams in the middle school level Solar Stage challenge.

“All of the Above” consisted of students Carmen A., Elizabeth B., Catherine B., Annie M., Lucy M., Maggie M., and Alexis M. “In the Dog House” consisted of Trilby B., Mattea H., Kara J., Myra R., and Becky R. “Apollo DI” was made up of Haley C., Tyler D., Finn M., Skyler O., Morgan R., and Murray R.  Congratulations to all!
