Student Council: Wreaths across America

Published On: November 12th, 2020 | Categories: Powhatan News |

On December 19, Wreaths across America volunteers will coordinate wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at more than 2,100 additional locations this year. More than most years, this will be a struggle to ensure the graves receive a wreath to be laid upon them as each wreath is either donated or purchased. This fundraising event is very much still on; however, with the pandemic, civilian volunteers will not be laying wreaths.

Powhatan Student Council teamed up with Wreaths across America for this coming holiday season to honor fallen heroes and thank them for their service and sacrifice. Sponsored wreaths will be going directly to Arlington National Cemetery. For every wreath that is purchased ($15) Powhatan SCA will receive ($5). The money we raise will be donated to a local charity this winter to help those in need. This is a great opportunity to provide service to such an important cause during unconventional times. Please help us reach our goal of 50 wreaths sold. Please note the purchase cutoff deadline is November 30, 2020.
