A Powhatan Day!
On Wednesday, August 22, Powhatan School faculty and staff welcomed students and parents to campus for the 2018-2019 school year! As in tradition, the morning began together as an entire school community with an All-School Gathering on Ibit’s Courtyard.
Enjoy this welcome back message video from Mrs. Scarborough, Head of School:
Each year the school selects a theme from one of the five pillars that support the school’s mission of “We learn not for school but for life.” This year’s area of concentration to support academic growth is Civility.
Summer upgrades across campus are almost complete. Parents of younger students were delighted to drop their kindergarten and first grade students in the newly renovated early learning classrooms. The ceramic studio located in the center of campus is fully functional and the new bleachers for the gymnasium will be completed shortly.
