75th Anniversary Homecoming: Low Water Bridge Band

Published On: March 1st, 2024 | Categories: Food for Thought |

We have EXCITING news! Powhatan alumni Alex Kerns ’01 and Riley Kerns ’04 and the Low Water Bridge Band will be headlining our 75th Homecoming Celebration on Saturday May 18! Local favorites, Low Water Bridge Band, released their second album, Back to the Valley, in November 2023 and are sure to play some of the fast favorites from it!

Founded in 2020, Low Water Bridge Band’s music is described as ”Appalachian soul country” and “romping, stomping, country-grass Americana (that) ain’t for the faint of heart”. The band’s debut album Midnight in Virginia was released in 2021 and the band has built a strong following locally and regionally.

We hope you will come and see Alex ‘01 on bass and Riley ‘04 on drums when the Low Water Bridge Band performs at the 75th Homecoming on Saturday, May 18 on campus!

This wonderful opportunity was generously sponsored by Amy and Jim Sluss, proud Alumni parents of Maddy ’20 and Jay ’23.
