Buddies are BACK!!!
The Buddy program pairs students at different grade levels together for learning activities and plenty of fun. It provides Big Buddies with leadership opportunities and teaches patience. Little Buddies gain confidence and feel a strong sense of community and a deep sense of belonging.
Building relationships with new children each year contributes to the social and emotional well-being of each member of our Powhatan community, and we feel strongly that this is an essential part of all children’s education. The Buddy program is one more example of how we live our mission: We learn not for school, but for life.
Today Eighth graders came over to the Kindergarten pavilion to help their Little Buddies paint birdhouses! Check out the video below to learn more:
A BIG POWHATAN SCHOOL THANK YOU GOES TO GRANDPA LAUB! He made each birdhouse by hand out of repurposed wood and delivered them to school!!!
