We continue to work with families throughout the summer for admissions to enroll for the 2024-25 school year. We have waitlists in a number of grade levels, so we encourage you to call to find out if there are seats available in your child’s grade. Summer admissions are made on a rolling basis where seats are available. The process for admissions at this time of the year is outlined below for your convenience.

wlkerVISIT: We encourage you to visit campus. There is no better way for you to get a sense of what Powhatan offers than to walk the campus grounds, meet our students and engage with our faculty. calendariuiuAPPLICATION: After you have toured the campus, your next step is to complete and submit the application for admission. It takes about 15 minutes to fill out and is the start to the official admissions process. Once we have received the application for admission, our team will assist you with the rest of the process. We work with applications on a rolling basis where we have an open seat. We suggest you call to inquire about availability in your child’s grade. Apply today: CLICK HERE.

pencil-testASSESSMENT: Our admissions team will work with you to schedule your child’s on-campus assessment. Admission to Powhatan School is selective. Assessments for students starting in first grade are scheduled individually. All assessment is grade level specific, and the admissions team will provide you with specific details about what is covered at the different grade levels.

docsssDOCUMENTATION: In order to complete your child’s admissions file, additional information may be required. Official transcripts, letters of recommendation, faculty interviews and other supporting information differs by grade level. Our admissions team will assist you with what is required for your child’s file any questions you might have about the process. We provide third-party forms for you to use to request information from your child’s current school.

calendar15FINANCIAL AID: Powhatan School is committed to opening the experiences of an exceptional education to as many qualified students as possible. Powhatan currently administers a generous tuition assistance program that funds roughly 25 percent of the student body, based upon demonstrated financial eligibility. In order to be considered for financial aid for the 2024-2025 school year, School and Student Service (SSS) must receive your application. We do have financial aid available for summer transfers. envelopeADMISSIONS DECISIONS: Admission decisions take less than two weeks once we have received all of the documentation and completed the on-campus assessment. We use an e-notification and enrollment system to make it easy and convenient for you to complete.
