Years of Teaching Experience: 3

Bio: I grew up in Caracas, Venezuela. I studied Business Administration and for many years I managed our family business, a travel agency. I’ve always had an interest and love for languages. I grew up in a bilingual household, speaking both Spanish and German, and I learned English by the time I was 12. I studied French for 3 years and Italian for 2. Before moving to the United States, I lived in Denmark for 3 years, where I learned to speak Danish. I have been living in the United States for the past 15 years with my husband, Jan, and our three kids, Raúl, Bettina and Nicolás.
Hobbies: I love sports! Growing up I played a lot of different sports, although golf was my main sport. I have turned that love of playing sports into a passion for coaching. I am a licensed soccer coach and have also had experience coaching volleyball, most recently with Powhatan’s volleyball team. In addition to sports, I also love to read and I always carry a book with me.
