Bio: April grew up in Frederick County, where she first taught fourth grade after graduating from college. In 2003, she began teaching second grade at Powhatan and later moved to fourth grade. She enjoys teaching all areas of the curriculum, but has a special interest in teaching reading and sharing books with students.

She resides in Clear Brook with her husband, Brian, and their three children (all Powhatan graduates).
