Bio: Cassey taught in Loudoun County Public Schools for many years prior to her joining the Powhatan School. She taught fifth and third grades. Additionally, Cassey spent one year teaching third grade within Winchester City Schools. During these years, Cassey served as a team leader, supervised and mentored three high school seniors in the Teacher Cadet Program at Stone Bridge High School, piloted and provided support for Word Study Implementation, and participated in the 30-30-30 program with Ron Nash.

At Powhatan School, Cassey revised the Social Studies curriculum and participated in curricular reviews for both Language Arts and Mathematics. Cassey attended the Virginia Council for the Social Studies conference in 2015 and just recently traveled to the Garrison Institute in New York for a week-long CARE for Teachers Retreat.

Hobbies: Spending time with my family, time in the kitchen (especially baking, cooking, and preserving!), reading, practicing mindfulness, getting to know my new puppy
