Bio: Teresa comes to Powhatan with 17 years of teaching experience. She began teaching at Cooper Middle School in McLean, Virginia where she taught special education English and math. Two of her years at Cooper were as part of the principal’s administrative team as the After School Program Specialist. After ten years at Cooper, Teresa and her family moved to Round Hill where she joined the faculty at Harmony Middle School in Hamilton, Virginia. At Harmony, she taught 7th and 8th grade students with special needs in English and reading. At both Cooper and Harmony Teresa served as a mentor teacher for several first-year teachers.

For the past five years she was selected to be a co-teaching demonstration site for the Excellence in Co-Teaching Initiative sponsored by the Virginia Department of Education. As part of this program, she opened her classroom to teachers and administrators throughout the Commonwealth to model best practices in co-teaching, co-planning, and co-assessing. She also developed numerous resources for the TTAC Online Real Co-Teachers of Virginia online training webshops.
Teresa resides in Round Hill with her husband Jason, their two children Morgan and Soren, both of whom attend Powhatan School, and their two Boston Terriers.
